• After more than two decades in design and development of signal processing related to telecommunications, securities markets and counterterrorism, E.M. began his doctoral studies in multivariate signal processing in financial markets and business intelligence. After service with Special forces in his forties and subsequent diagnosis of traumatic brain injury and the death of several friends and colleagues from the same, E.M. shifted his studies and research to multivariate signals integration in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of brain injury and resultant mood disorders. In early 2020, E.M. launched the Jason Dawson and Stewart McGurk Brain Research Fellowship with the purpose of establishing a rigorous mathematical, scientific and medical framework integrates into a single whole, signals arising from the growing number of detection and diagnosis devices, equipment and testing. A framework integrates the biological, neurological and neuropsychological levels, which collectively comprise the brain and mind, into a single whole, readily recognizable and usable by all the many different participants in brain and mental health.

  • Mr. Karavolos began his career in the military as an Air Force bio environmental engineer, having the credentials to qualify as a “hand select” candidate. He later joined the national guard reserves, participating with a number of roles- medical, aviation, and artillery.

He completed his bachelor’s degree in physical geography, agriculture and physics, his master’s degree in environmental engineering and materials engineering, and due to his career interests, he completed a degree in clinical medicine research.

Among his accomplishments are undergraduate honors thesis distinction, election into the alpha epsilon delta medical honor society, the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, election as an associate fellow for the Aerospace Medical Association, the Hellenic Aerospace Association and was ranked highly qualified in a 1992 astronaut selection round.

Humbled to even be considered for selection, Mr. Karavolos pursued a career in space research, and has submitted patents and publications on his work in life support systems, materials and human performance criteria.

He continues to be a strong supporter and advocate for STEM and encouraging young students to pursue lofty goals, and do not be discouraged if you do not attain it, but view the setback as an opportunity to travel down another road in life’s path.

  • Dr. Todd Ovokaitys is a highly accomplished medical professional with a distinguished career in academic medicine and clinical practice. He graduated first in his class at Solomon Juneau High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and went on to graduate first in a class of 1800 at Northwestern University. He was one of only 26 students in the country accepted into an accelerated combined undergraduate/graduate medical program at Johns Hopkins University, where he earned a B.A. in Human Biology in 1978 and a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1981.

Dr. Ovokaitys has held various academic appointments, including Clinical Instructor of Medicine at the Fairfax Hospital/Georgetown University Hospital Integrated Program and Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. He has also provided general medical services in San Diego and Los Angeles through medical groups such as ReadiCare Medical Group and Medical Staffing Medical Group.

Certified as a practitioner of Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Ovokaitys has been licensed to practice as a Physician and Surgeon in Maryland, Virginia, and California. He has also held executive positions, such as Chief Executive Officer of Gematria Products, Inc., where he conducted successful clinical studies on various formulations using laser-based photoacoustic resonance technology.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ovokaitys has conducted extensive research in the fields of gastroenterology, immunology, and oncology. He has also conducted studies using holographic laser technology to inhibit and inactivate HIV and to treat cancer, and he is currently studying the effects of modulated laser energy on the homogenization of organic nutrients to enhance their biological effects.

As a renowned scientist and lecturer, Dr. Ovokaitys has delivered numerous keynote addresses at various medical conferences. He is an expert in the fields of DNA repair and life extension, and his lectures include topics such as longevity medicine, fibromyalgia, autoimmune conditions, and Parkinson's disease. Dr. Ovokaitys has received several accolades for his work, including the Bausch & Lomb Science Award and America’s Top Physicians Award from the Consumer Research Council of America, and he has also been recognized for his humanitarian work in India.
